The following support note relates to machine connection settings not being available in e4.2 after updating from e4.0 or e4.1.

Cause of the issue

e4.2 is a 64-bit application which dramatically improves its speed and performance. e4.0 and e4.1 is a 32-bit application. As a result, e4.2 is installed in a different location (C:\Program Files\), and default files from the 32-bit application location cannot be automatically copied across to the 64-bit application location.

Effects of the issue

As a result, machine connection profiles in Stitch Manager, Connection Manager and Machine Manager that were present in e4.0 and e4.1 are not available in e4.2.

How to solve the issue

To solve this issue:

For Stitch Manager and Connection Manager machine profiles:

Copy defaults.dfl from the e4.0 / e4.1 C:\Program Files (x86)\Wilcom\EmbroideryStudio_e4.0\BIN folder to the e4.2 C:\Program Files\Wilcom\EmbroideryStudio_e4.2\BIN folder.

For Machine Manager machine profiles:

Copy mmg.mmg from the e4.0 / e4.1 C:\Program Files (x86)\Wilcom\EmbroideryStudio_e4.0\BIN folder to the e4.2 C:\Program Files\Wilcom\EmbroideryStudio_e4.2\RES folder.
